WHAT IS DECA?

DECA is the co-curricular component of marketing education that provides a program of student activities related to marketing and marketing education. Membership in DECA is open to all students who are enrolled in a state approved, career-technical marketing education program, including business and management pathway students. DECA provides opportunities for students to develop skills in the areas of vocational understanding, leadership development, civic consciousness, and social intelligence.


DECA Is Proud To Support Lifetime's
Future Frontrunners Contest For Young Women

Summary:
As part of Lifetime's award-winning, nonpartisan Every Woman Counts campaign, to encourage women to get more involved in the political process as voters and candidates, Lifetime has launched "The Future Frontrunners" Contest, http://www.mylifetime.com/community/my-lifetime-commitment/ewc/future-frontrunners. Partners in this effort include CosmoGIRL! And Declare Yourself.

Eligible women may enter by submitting a registration form online at, http://www.mylifetime.com/community/my-lifetime-commitment/ewc/future-frontrunners, along with either a) a written essay or b) a one (1) minute video of the entrant speaking to the camera as set out below.

Your Video or Essay must begin with the words, "If I were president, I would." One (1) "National Prize" will be awarded from among all Essays received and one (1) National Prize will be awarded from among all Videos received. Additionally, seven (7) "Regional Prizes" will be awarded from among all of the entrants who live within a one-hundred (100) mile radius of Denver, CO and seven (7) Regional Prizes will be awarded from among all eligible entrants who live within a one-hundred mile radius of St. Paul, MN. The Contest runs from May 1, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time ("ET") and continues through June 16, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Winners of the Contest will be announced on the Website and in the press on or about August 1, 2008.

Eligibility:
The Contest is open to women who are legal residents of the United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) or the District of Columbia and who as of the date of entry are between 16 and 22 years of age. Any entrant who is under the legal age of majority in his/her state of residence (a "minor") should get his or her parent or legal guardian's permission to enter. Employees of Lifetime Entertainment Services, The Walt Disney Company, The Hearst Corporation, CosmoGIRL! and Declare Yourself and each of their respective parent, affiliated and subsidiary companies (collectively, the "Promotion Entities") and/or immediate family members and/or those residing in the same household of such persons are not eligible to enter or win. Void in Alaska, Hawaii and where prohibited by law.

How to Enter:
Go to the Website, http://www.mylifetime.com/community/my-lifetime-commitment/ewc/future-frontrunners, read and indicate your acceptance to the Official Rules, complete the Registration Form found on the Contest page, and follow the prompts to upload and submit your Video or Essay.
