Each year voting delegates from each chapter elect officers into different positions. These officers meet once a month to talk about ways to improve DECA. Natalie Giammanco is honored, humbled, and excited to be your 2017-2018 New Jersey DECA State President. She is currently a senior at Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale, New Jersey. She has been a DECA member for the last three years and has competed in Principles of Hospitality and Tourism, Hospitality Services Team Decision Making, Buying and Merchandising Operations, Public Relations, and will be competing in the Chapter project for Creative Marketing this year. She has been a member of her school’s DECA Leadership team for the past two years.

Natalie Giammanco is honored, humbled, and excited to be your 2017-2018 New Jersey DECA State President. She is currently a senior at Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale, New Jersey. Besides having a passion for business, Natalie is also very interested in environmental science. She loves to shop, hang out with friends, and go out to various restaurants. During the school year, Natalie runs for her school’s cross country team in the fall and dances on the school’s dance team in the winter. During her summers, she loves to travel for community service projects. She has visited Costa Rica and the Fiji Islands to help restore local villages and coral reefs. When she's home during the summer months, she loves to visit the beach, surf, and eat tons of ice cream while working at a local Dairy Queen.

Natalie is very eager for the year ahead, so members can feel free to approach her with questions, concerns, or comments regarding NJ DECA!

Daniel (Danny) Breslow is extremely honored to serve as your 2017-2018 Northern Region Vice President! Currently a senior at Indian Hills High School, Danny is in his fourth year as an active member of Ramapo-Indian Hills DECA. In his sophomore year, Danny served as his chapter Treasurer, and in his junior year, Danny began his term as President of Ramapo-Indian Hills DECA, one of the largest and most successful chapters in the state. He has recruited new members and organized numerous chapter campaigns and community service projects in order to consistently gain his chapter THRIVE Level recognition. He is a three-time SCDC finalist in his competitive event, and last year was a Top 10 Winner in Quick Serve Restaurant Management at the International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California.

Outside of DECA, Danny is a motivated honors student with a full course-load of Advanced Placement classes. He is President of the Renee Fishman Chapter of the National Honor Society, participates in Indian Hills Interact, and is a server at a Mexican restaurant in Wyckoff. He is passionate about political activism, environmentalism, and, of course, DECA! After high school, Danny plans on studying government and global business with the long-term goal of working for the United States Foreign Service.

In his free time, Danny likes to read Game of Thrones and watch reality television. He tries his best to never miss an episode of Big Brother or Real Housewives. Overall, Danny is thrilled to begin his final year as a high school DECA member as your NRVP and can’t wait to connect with members on social media and at the next DECA conference.    Kevin McIlvaine is extremely honored to serve as your 2017-2018 Central Region Vice President! Kevin is a senior at Freehold High School and has been a member of his DECA chapter for the last 3 years. In previous years, he has served as his school’s DECA Chapter Vice President of Finance while also participating in the social media correspondent program and competing in the Automotive Services Marketing series event. Kevin has competed at 3 regional conferences, 1 state conference, and has attended the International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California.

Aside from DECA, Kevin is also involved in a variety of extracurricular activities in and out of his school. He currently serves as the Student Council President at his school and is a member of National Honor Society. Kevin also runs for his Track and Field and Cross-Country team at the Varsity level. Outside of school, Kevin is a member of his town’s Youth Government program and serves as the Recording Secretary of the group. During his free time, Kevin enjoys playing guitar with his friends and working on cars with his father. Kevin is an extremely personable and friendly guy who loves meeting new people, so never hesitate to come up to him and chat!

Kevin is beyond excited to serve on the State Action Team and to befriend all of the awesome New Jersey DECA members! He is ready to work with his region, his peers, and all of NJ DECA and can’t wait to inspire each member to realize their opportunities in life are limitless!

Rachel Lynch is honored and ecstatic to be serving as your 2017-2018 Southern Region Vice President. Rachel is a senior at Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, NJ.She believes participation in DECA is the fundamental stepping stone to embark on a successful career while building confidence in public speaking and critical thinking skills along the way. Rachel is so excited to work with her state officer team to spark NJ DECA members’ potential towards their limitless futures. As a member in DECA, Rachel attended 2 regional conferences, 1 state conference, and ICDC in Anaheim, California. Rachel loves every minute at each DECA conference between meeting extraordinary people to heart pounding competition!

Her past credentials include serving as Secretary for her high school DECA chapter. She was a contributing proponent in practically doubling her chapter’s membership. Her determination and motivation has led her to pursue bigger opportunities. Today, Rachel serves as your Southern Region Vice President as well as President for her high school chapter.

Beyond DECA, Rachel focuses on her academics and extracurricular activities. Rachel is an active member of National Honor Society, French Honor Society, and serves as Vice President of History Honor Society. In addition, Rachel loves giving back to the community through volunteer organization such as Key Club, Interact, and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Club. Furthermore, Rachel is a student athlete and loves playing softball with her fellow viking teammates. As a creative outlet, Rachel designs and constructs her own clothing collection each year an annual Fashion Show.

Outside of school, Rachel escapes to the Pocono and Adirondack Mountains shredding the ski slopes, and in the summer she splits her time between the Jersey Shore and Florida Space Coast soaking in sunshine, paddle boarding and kayaking. One of Rachel’s favorite activities is bike riding through wilderness trails, along the boardwalk down the shore, or to the perfect spot to watch the sunset and capture mesmerizing photos on her canon camera.

Through a variety of life experiences thus far, Rachel has learned that the value of hard work can really take her far which is how she became her high school’s first state officer. Rachel is eager to commence on a limitless year with the drive to succeed wherever NJ DECA takes her!

   Nicholas Kaufman is extremely excited and honored to serve New Jersey DECA as your 2017-2018 State Recording Secretary. Nick is currently a senior at Freehold Boro High School and has been deeply involved with DECA for his entire high school career. During his junior year he served as president of his chapter at Freehold High School and was very proud of his chapter’s success. Nicholas competed in the Principles of Marketing category during his freshman year in which he placed first overall at the state conference and was given the opportunity to compete at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida. From his sophomore year onward he has been placed in the Business Services Marketing Category in which he placed 3rd overall at ICDC his junior year.  Throughout the entirety of his involvement, DECA has helped Nicholas develop into a stronger leader, communicator, and personality that makes him who he is today.

Nicholas also stays extremely active outside of DECA as well. In school, Nicholas is enrolled in the Medical Science Learning Academy and is also involved in student council, band, and National Honor Society. Outside of school, Nicholas is involved in many service groups and organizations including Garden State MOSAIC, the Manalapan Teen Leadership Committee, Family Promise, and the Marlboro First Aid Squad where he is an active EMT. Additionally, Nicholas spends a great deal of his time operating his personal business “DJ Kaos”, in which he DJs local parties and large events throughout the entire year, and producing music. Through his experience owning his own business for the past 4 years, Nicholas has gained a unique perspective on business that drew him into DECA.

Nicholas is extremely excited to serve on New Jersey DECA’s State Officer Action Team along with his fellow officers. He hopes that during his experience as a state officer he will be able to meet many amazing people and share the fun and happiness that DECA has brought him with others. Nicholas loves to meet new people, so feel free to come up to him at any conference to say hello, take a selfie, or talk about anything from DECA to music! He looks forward to meeting you and helping to make your DECA experience as fulfilling and great as it has been for him. Nick is very excited to see what comes from this year in DECA!

   Ruslan Diaz is honored to serve as your New Jersey DECA Vice President of Media for the 2017-18 school year. Ruslan is now participating in his 3rd year of DECA at Ridgewood High School. During his time in DECA he has competed in the Restaurant Food Service Management Series, Marketing Management Team Decision Making Roleplay, Start-up Business Plan Paper and placed 4th in the Business Growth Paper (EBG) last year. Ruslan is going into his third year of being a chapter officer and attended ICDC in Nashville for the THRIVE Academy and and Anaheim to compete for his EBG paper.

Apart from DECA,  Ruslan is very active in his other extracurriculars. He will be entering his third year of RHS Student Congress, serving as a representative of his grade. He is also participating in the RHS Teen Leads club, a civic engagement and leadership development program. Earlier this year Ruslan founded the Ridgewood High School Entrepreneurs Club helping student realize the value of starting their own businesses. He had the drive to start this club grow as he has owned his own business since January of 2015. Outside of school, Ruslan loves sports, he has earned one National and two State Championships on his former soccer team and is now apart of Varsity Men's soccer as well as Track and field.

Taylor Molina is honored to serve New Jersey DECA as your 2017-2018 Vice President of Public Relations. As a junior at Leonia High School, Taylor is in her third year as a DECA member. Taylor went to states both years, competing in Food Marketing her freshman year and Professional Selling her sophomore year. She also attended ICDC her sophomore year in Anaheim, California for Thrive training. Business and Marketing have been very influential in Taylor’s life since the start of high school and she is currently in the Marketing Business Leadership Academy at Leonia High School. In this academy she has taken Intro to Marketing and Marketing Strategies and is currently enrolled in Sports and Entertainment Marketing along with being a School Store Manager.

Beyond DECA, Taylor focuses on academics and extracurricular activities. She has been elected to student senate in Leonia High School all three years to help make a difference in her school environment. She is captain of the Consumer Bowl team which is a competition on New Jersey’s Consumer affair laws and she is in Ribbon club which raises money for debilitating illnesses and diseases. In addition, Taylor is a two season athlete, competing in varsity tennis and varsity track. In her free time, Taylor loves going on roller coasters, running, reading, going on walks with her dog Miley, and of course spending time with friends and family.
